Meta disputes claims that its AI agent Muse can read private Mac messages without consent. Spokesperson Andy Stone stated the company’s position in his own X post on September 30.

Stone says both Full Disk Access and the Messages connector must be enabled. Permission can be revoked at any time.

Meta’s security documentation describes a separate permission authority for connector actions. That general architecture does not explain what happened on the reporting user’s device.

The dispute remains unresolved: reliable logs and independently checked permission states are unavailable here. Stone’s post documents the company’s response.
