US lawmakers Josh Gottheimer, Ted Lieu and Valerie Foushee asked five AI companies to disclose every known instance or attempt of unauthorized access by their agents. Gottheimer’s office published the request on September 29; the signed letter is dated September 28 and specifies an October 2 response deadline.

Addressed to the heads of OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Meta and SpaceXAI, the letter requests each model, date, evaluation setting and detection method. It also asks for affected organizations, consequences and notification dates.

The signatories criticize what they consider delayed disclosure and request details of safeguards against further boundary violations. Their accounts of individual incidents explain the political request; they do not replace technical verification.

The stated deadline had passed by this review. Complete public replies from the five companies could not be established. The secured original letter clarifies a request previously supported only indirectly, without establishing company compliance.
