Anthropic says it has given six METR employees employee-like access to internal systems. Its October 15 announcement describes company hardware, office space and access broadly comparable to its own risk assessors.

METR can publish findings without an Anthropic veto, the company says. Narrowly defined redactions remain, covering areas such as customer data, legal privilege and model architecture. METR may publicly assess those restrictions.

Those rights do not automatically extend to every outside partner. Anthropic describes tiered access; early, narrowly scoped investigations still need publication approval. Discussions with Hugging Face remain preliminary.

A same-day update clarifies SecureBio’s ongoing review of a biological and chemical risk chapter. The new METR arrangement has not yet produced a completed safety report; Anthropic is currently the source for the permissions described.
