Candela agrees that David Robinson is balanced and knows what he is talking about. Robinson worked on his teams, he writes, grounding that assessment in direct experience.
Beyond the higher bar Achiam advocates, Candela says the culture needs to evolve and align behind it. It should support meeting those requirements.
Candela is speaking as a former employee, not on OpenAI’s behalf. His post sets out neither new binding rules nor a timetable for specific changes.
