Former OpenAI researcher Oleg Mürk warns that pressure to ship new models and beat competitors increasingly concerned him about AI safety. In his own October 8 post, he asks OpenAI to rehire three dismissed safety researchers.

Mürk is responding to the open letter by Tomek Korbak, Jasmine Wang and Mikita Balesni. He asks whether technical leadership faces the same accountability standards after recent agent incidents.

His research involvement at OpenAI is corroborated by an official contributor list. His August departure and assessment of company culture are personal accounts, not independently resolved findings.

Mürk explicitly alleges no foul play in his own case. He also allows that the three dismissals may have had legitimate procedural grounds. His warning concerns incentives and competitive pressure, not a secret company strategy he has established.
