New York City Council reports that SpaceXAI has agreed to an AI safety hearing. Speaker Julie Menin announced on October 13 that it is scheduled for October 16 at 10 a.m. local time.
The Council subpoenaed SpaceXAI on September 28. After its absence on October 5, the Council announced plans to seek judicial enforcement.
Menin and committee chair Carmen De La Rosa seek answers about safeguards and accountability. The appearance is planned before the Technology Committee.
